Show Topic:

Have you recently typed into a search engine, “what are signs of burn-out”?

Have you read articles designed to help you identify and combat burnout? Many HR leaders have—whether attempting to identify the symptoms in team members or in themselves.

On this episode of HR Power Hour, join Tawny Alvarez, from Verrill, as she talks with Anush Hansen, Certified Career Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and creator of the Work-Life Balance Assessment, as they discuss career counseling and how companies can help to both pro-actively limit employee burnout and (unfortunately) how to respond if it’s too late to be proactive.

Helping employees re-center their work-life balance and return to a more happy, healthy, and productive career.

About The Guest:

Anush Hansen, MA, MS, LPC, CCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maine, a Certified Career Counselor credentialed by the National Career Development Association, the owner of Kennebunk Career & Wellness Counseling and Balanced Card Sorts, and the creator of the Career Counseling Connectiononline directory.

She received her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. Upon completing her degree, Anush worked as a counselor at the University of New Hampshire Counseling Center, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Counseling Center, and Seacoast Mental Health Center in New Hampshire. Prior to her work as a counselor, Anush received a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts in 2001 and worked for 17 years as a public health and health promotion researcher on numerous physical activity, nutrition, cancer screening, environmental health, substance abuse prevention, and other projects at the University of Southern Maine, the University of Vermont, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

This work regularly required Anush to develop and test assessment tools and survey instruments for collecting and assessing health-related data. It is Anush’s background in health promotion and public health that fuels her commitment to using a holistic, wellness-centered approach when working with clients, and that helped to shape the Work-Life Balance Assessment. Anush lives in Maine with her husband, two children, a very energetic chocolate lab/Aussie mix, and two extremely fluffy cats.

She’s a member of the National Career Development Association, the Maine Career Development Association, the Career Counselors Consortium of the Northeast, and the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport & Arundel Chamber of Commerce.
