About The Guest:

Shantanu is a physician, entrepreneur, and technologist passionate about reinventing healthcare for all. He currently serves as Chief Medical Officer of Accolade, where he oversees the company’s clinical strategy and solutions to improve health outcomes for two million individuals and families and practice primary care at Neighborhood Health, a federally qualified health center in the greater Washington, DC, area. He also serves as a lecturer in health policy at the George Washington Milken Institute for Public Health and as an advisor to the World Bank Group on digital health and innovation. His second book, Care After Covid: What the Pandemic Revealed Is Broken in Healthcare and How to Reinvent It.

Previously, he served as a senior health specialist in the World Bank Group’s Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice where he accelerated the adoption of health innovation and technology across the Bank’s $15 billion healthcare portfolio in low- and middle-income countries. He also served as Director of the Human Diagnosis Project, a healthcare AI startup company, and Managing Director for Clinical Innovation at Evolent Health, a population health company, where he supported the launch of value-based care and accountable care organizations around the country.

His work has been recognized by the World Health Organization and the MacArthur Foundation and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Harvard Business Review, The Atlantic, JAMA, Rolling Stone, and Wired Magazine.

Shantanu completed his undergraduate studies at MIT, MD from Johns Hopkins, and MBA from University of Chicago.
