Prior to joining Rudman Winchell, he served for more than eight years as Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Bangor. He is the author of “Municipal Regulation of Nude Dancing”, published in the Maine Bar Journal, Vol. 22, No. 1, Winter 2007, and “Handicap Discrimination, Zoning, & the Federal Fair Housing Act”, published in the Maine Bar Journal, Vol. 13, No. 4, July 1998.
John is a past President of the Downtown Bangor Partnership, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and market activities that enhance the distinctive identity of downtown Bangor and which encourage retention and growth of commercial, residential, and cultural life within the downtown district. He also is a Member of the Bangor Target Area Development Corporation.
John K. Hamer was born in Germany and grew up in Amherst, New Hampshire. He received his B.A. from McGill University, and earned his J.D. and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School.

Joy Rothschild, a 35-year associate who started in Omni’s Management Development Program, rejoined Omni Hotels & Resorts as senior vice president of human resources in January 1998. In 2002, the department was recast as Associate Services to formalize the company’s service commitment to the people who make Omni Hotels a success.
Rothschild serves on the Advisory Board for School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University, Hospitality Board of Governors for College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism, University of North Texas, and American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Labor and Human Resources committees.
