Practice Focus

A member of our firm since 2002, J.P. represents clients across a wide variety of industries in civil litigation. His work includes the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation matters including general commercial disputes; trade secret, noncompetition and restrictive covenant litigation; employment cases; and construction actions. In his time with the firm, J.P. has represented businesses and individuals engaged in various aspects of the construction trade, media companies defending defamation claims, product manufacturers facing warranty claims, technology developers in business-to-business disputes and noncompetition litigation, victims of professional negligence, and many other types of businesses.

J.P. provides general advice to locum tenens staffing companies and teleradiology companies.

J.P. has developed expertise in records and data management policies and the management of electronically stored information. He has drafted records management policies implemented by a variety of businesses. He has lectured and presented on all aspects of document retention and destruction policies, with particular emphasis on their application to litigation. He has also cultivated skill in the electronic discovery practices and data mining techniques that impact all litigation matters.

  • Successfully argued before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on behalf of a timber company and its principals against an insurance company that breached its insurance agreement.
  • Successfully argued before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on behalf of a restaurant owner for the invalidation of a town smoking ban.
  • Defends employers and municipalities in employment discrimination claims and claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In 2014, J.P. was named one of the New Hampshire Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty. He has been selected as a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers® in the area of Business Litigation since 2009 and has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation. J.P. is a member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2010. He was also an Editorial Assistant for the Catholic University Law Review.

Memberships and Admissions

J.P. is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He is a member of the New Hampshire and American Bar Associations. J.P. is a past member of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Legislation Committee.

Community Involvement

J.P. is currently the Board of Trustees Chair for the Kevin T. McHugh Memorial Scholarship Fund and serves on the New Hampshire Catholic Charities’ Peer-to-Peer Campaign. He is also Chair of the Trinity High School Board of Advisors, as well as the Chairman of their Membership Committee, and Secretary of St. Joseph Community Services (Meals on Wheels for Hillsborough County).

Legislative Update –

Julie holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied public policy argument, and undergraduate degrees in Communication Arts and History from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

A published author and instructor of college-level communication courses, Ms. Rabinowitz has served as both executive staff and on the boards of numerous non-profits in Maine and beyond. She’s handled internal and external communication as well as managed finances and developed and implemented strategic plans. Ms. Rabinowitz has worked at the FDR and JFK presidential libraries and currently serves as the director of communication for the Maine Department of Labor.
