A Vicarious HR Rehearsal –

Rob is the Emergency Management Director at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Since 2010, he has been solely responsible for the design, development, and sustainment of the Emergency Management Program at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston. Functioning in a command role for a myriad of emergency situations: weather emergencies, utility disruptions, hazardous materials events, full-scale exercises, planned Boston city events, and any incident threatening to disrupt normal hospital operations, staff, or patient safety.

He works in one of the oldest hospitals in the country (built by Paul Revere), yet employs a very creative and modern training and development tool-vicarious rehearsal.

He will tell you how this simple tool is used at Tufts in a variety of every day crises and emergencies and he will share the story of how it helped his team manage the unthinkable: the immediate aftermath of the Patriots’ Day bombing.
