The Maine Association of Retirees (MAR) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect the retirement benefits of retirees who are members of the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MePERS).  MAR has been providing many avenues of assistance to public sector retirees (state, educators, and municipal) for over 48 years.  MAR has approximately 14,000 members who reside in and out of state. 

MAR advocates for members rights before the Maine Legislature on a variety of issues such as annual cost-of-living increases, property tax fairness, medical and drug insurance costs, etc.  MAR also offers many other benefits including group dental insurance, free technology assistance for computers, tablets, smart phones and discounts from select Maine retailers and service providers.
