He earned his B.A. from Assumption College in 1980, his M.P.A. from Northeastern University, and his J.D. , cum laude, from the New England School of Law in 1989.

  Jim has extensive experience handling matters before the NH Department of Labor, the NH Commission for Human Rights, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

  Jim is a moderator of NHLABORNET, and he has been a media resource on workplace law for media outlets including CNN, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times Business Magazine, Bloomberg, WMUR, NPR, The Associated Press, NPR Market Place, Buzz Feed, Law 360, Inc. Peter Gore joined Maine Street Solutions as a Senior Government Relations Specialist in December 2022. Prior to joining Maine Street, Peter spent 28 years at the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, initially as a Senior Governmental Affairs Specialist, and then in 2008, he was named the Executive Vice President for Advocacy and Government Relations.

In his role, Gore represented more than 5,000 business members before the Maine Legislature, the Office of the Governor, and the public in the specific areas of workers’ compensation law, labor/management issues, and healthcare/health insurance and economic development topics.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Gore was the Director of the Office of Public and Legislative Affairs at the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Gore received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine. He resides in Brunswick with his wife.

In 2018, James and three others broke the Guinness World Record for the longest doubles tennis match, playing continuously for over 60 hours.

Since retiring from professional tennis, James has carried passion for high performance and is the founder of Give Learn, an e-learning company that offers both LIVE and on-demand classes with global experts around soft skills. Give Learn links learning to social good and allows users to earn points to donate to different social causes. James believes in connecting people to develop their life and career.
