Mark Ventola is a member of the Firm’s employment and labor law, business consulting, and litigation practice groups. Mark’s focus is on employment and labor law, advising clients about the many aspects of the relationship between employer and employee.

He provides advice and drafts agreements, policies, and protocols concerning hiring, trade secret, termination and separation, wage and hour, family and medical leave, employment discrimination, noncompetition, and other compliance issues. A significant portion of his practice also involves handling employment litigation in the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, Superior Court and Federal Court.

Mark represents public and private employers in collective bargaining with labor unions and serves as labor counsel to a city in the Greater Boston area. He is experienced in handling grievance arbitrations, and unfair labor practices matters. To assist clients in litigation avoidance efforts, Mark has developed training programs for managers and staff concerning sexual harassment, management, and human resource issues. He also supervises and conducts internal investigations for the Firm;s management clients.

He has lectured and written on sexual harassment, training, and numerous employment law topics. Mark serves as general counsel to a number of closely-held businesses in a variety of industries, providing advice on corporate governance and general business issues. In the litigation area, Mark’s experience includes the defense and prosecution of complex business, shareholder and partner disputes, product liability, aviation, commercial, real estate, professional malpractice, construction, insurance coverage and extra-contractual matters. From 2005 through 2009 Mark has been selected as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers in the field of labor and employment law in Law and Politics magazine after an extensive survey of attorneys across the state.

He is a former director of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and of the Defense Research Institute. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, and the Justinian Law Society. Mark has served as an advisor to the Harvard Law School Mock Trial Programs. Mark has also served as a Pretrial Case Conferencer for the joint Boston Municipal Court/Boston Bar Association Program. As an active member of the community, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce, where he was named the New Member of the Year in 2005.

Mark has served on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Greater Melrose Charitable Foundation and as the Vice President of the Malden Catholic Alumni Association. He has served as Chairman of the Melrose Youth Task Force, and as a member of the Melrose Historic District Commission. Mark also serves on the Board of Directors for Stoneham Youth Basketball, where is he a coach. He is also a member of The Order of Sons of Italy, the Appian Club and the National Italian American Foundation. Mark recently became a member of the Finance Council for Saint Patrick Parish in Stoneham. He was also recently appointed to the Stoneham Middle School Building Committee. Mark received a J.D. degree in 1986 from the Boston University School of Law, where he was recognized as a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar and an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. He received a B.S., magna cum laude, from Boston College in 1983. He is a member of both the Massachusits and New Hampshire bars.

Anne-Marie was born in New York City but grew up primarily in Virginia. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, after which she served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand.
Anne-Marie then graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School, where she was a Notes Editor for the Vermont Law Review.
